WHO ARE RAMSAY & ROBERTS?
Laura and Mark Roberts have worked as optometrists in the South Lakes area for many years. They took ownership of Eyecare Exellence in 2018 when the previous owner retired. They are passionate about providing patient centred care using the latest in optometric technology. The practice team is commited to local shared care schemes, working alongside GP’s and ophthalmologists to provide emergency, glaucoma, paediatric and post operative services.
Elysia Ramsay joined the Eyecare excellence team in July 2019 and became a director in November 2020 alongside Laura and Mark Roberts. Elysia grew up in Barrow, she then left to study Optometry in Cardiff before returning back to cumbria in 2013. After becoming an established optometrist in the area, previously working for a large Optical store in Barrow she made the made the decision to move to an independent practice where you have the time to focus on individual patient care and patient continuity with the same Optometrist is maintained.
As a practice, Eyecare Excellence has a clear focus on building relationships with patients and their families, with a talented, friendly and long serving team of staff. We take pride in getting to know patients as individuals in order to provide the best possible care and eyewear solutions, in a relaxed and friendly environment. The opportunity to create a new practice with the space and flexibility to invest in the latest equipment is something that Mark, Laura and Elysia are extremely excited about. They are equally excited about the opportunity to showcase the best of design led, often handmade brands and products from the continent, many of which will be unique in the area. Alongside new brands such as Face a Face and Pro Design, the practice will continue to carry a strong offering of affordable frame ranges which offer choice to all patients and all budgets. Our new store boasts a modern interior to showcase our new designer frame ranges which will be launched at king street. The store favours itself to an exquisite customer journey, which includes a new state of the art OCT machine which can detect very early signs of pathology at the back of the eye. This, alongside our optomap retinal imaging camera offers the best technology a sight test today can offer.
The practice is proud of its long history in the town, having been established by Lyn Savage over 30 years ago. The move to expand the practice into purpose built premises has given Elysia, Laura and Mark the opportunity to incorporate a refreshed name of Ramsay & Roberts - Eyecare Excellence.
